November Newsletter
Here is the text of the first group email, sent on the 13th of November to all registered email addresses.  If you have not yet registered, please do so so that we can send future newsletters to you.  Many thanks!

This is a first group mail from Titwood to aim to keep you up to date with
developments and our next events.  Hopefully this will prove helpful to you
- if you have any questions or suggestions, please mention to anyone on the
committee.  Our contact details are all on the
www.titwoodlawntennisclub.co.uk web site.  In this group mail the topics are
the club's AGM, the club ladders for men's and ladies doubles, this Sunday's
Handicap Event (Sun, 16th Nov), advance notice of Stuart Clark's Grading
Days on the 13th and 14th Dec, a plea for your help registering with British
Tennis and the Beginners Nights each Wednesday.  Here are the details.

Topic 1 is the upcoming club AGM.  This will be held at 7.30pm on Mon, 1st
December at the Clubhouse.  All members are welcome, but only Senior
Playing Members are eligible to vote. We are actively looking for members to
join the committee, with 2 positions available.
Treasurer - Jonathan Russell is going to pass on the baton but might an
accountant in the membership be willing to take over his well-organised
accounts?
Membership Secretary - Lesley Bale has tendered her resignation due to
personal committments and so we are looking for a replacement.
Please contact Brett Roberts or one of the committee members if you would
like any information beforehand.  Many thanks.

Topic 2 is the Club Ladder.  This is about to launch.  The aim is to
encourage lots of games through the next few months.  The rules are on the
website, and the starting ladders will be online on the site by this
weekend.  Please contact Stuart Clark with any questions.

Topic 3 is the Handicap Event at the club this weekend.  This is a Seniors
Handicap event from 2-4pm on Sunday, 16th November.  The cost is £5 per
player, with prizes for winners etc.  Please contact Stuart for details -
Further details available on the website.

Topic 4 is Stuart's plan for Grading Days on the weekend of the 13th and
14th of December.  Please put these dates in your diary - more details to
follow closer to the time.

Topic 5 is another request to join British Tennis.  We need your help.  In
the future any assistence (eg in the form of grants) we request from the LTA
will be dependent on the number of club members registered with British
Tennis.  Quotas for Wimbledon tickets will also be allocated to clubs on the
percentage of members registered.  There is a deadline of some importance at
the end of this month.  Please can you register, and please can all members
of your family also join.  Usefully, it is free!  There is further
information available about British Tennis Membership on the LTA website.
To join please either access this via
http://www.lta.org.uk/articles/membership or by filling out one of the forms
already printed and in the clubhouse.  Having done so, please can you
finally confirm your membership number to Brett Roberts
( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
This topic has been mentioned before, and at that time a good number signed
up - Thank you for doing so.  It would be a huge help if as many as possible
could register now (particularly before the end of this month).

Topic 6 is the Biginners night each Wednesday.  This is proving a big
success.  If anyone would like to join this or would like any further
information, please contact Stuart.

Topic 7 - a final one for now(!) - is the website.  Hopefully this is
proving helpful in highlighting news etc.  We hope to keep developing the
site and its uses - all feedback very welcome.
